It is possible to take that dark mid-century modern and make it into a soaring, white contemporary barn. This TEK built kit was an early example of a reverse raised ranch. One entered to either go down to the kitchen and living room, or up to bedrooms and family room. It was dark, gloomy & unwelcoming.
By changing the drive and reversing the entry, one now enters directly into the lower level and the newly built, 2 story livingroom. The second floor family room became the new master loft. All windows were replaced with Low-e insulated glass. Blown in insulation is in all cavities. Highest construction standards were used for a light filled home.
